The
Cats Touring Tent was erected at Carrara Sports Stadium in
2000, local Council requirements stipulated that the structural
components be certified by a registered engineer. Robert.P
Harcourt & Associates took on the project and arranged
for various load tests on hold down pegs and king posts. Detailed
soil tests were undertaken at the stadium to verify theoretical
results with actual results.
The
photos below illustrate load tests that were carried out on
the various hold down pegs, a 20t crane was used to pull each
peg from the ground with pull out loads being recorded.
